Dear Diary: A bit of waffle about what’s been going on lately
So as I explained in my last post, husband fell off a ladder and smashed his heel bone to smithereens.
On Thursday it will have been three weeks since it happened and man oh man have they been a long three weeks. The first week he was in agony, the second week he had to cancel his operation slot as his foot was still really swollen and now, going into the third week, we have everything crossed that at his consultation tomorrow he will be get the green light to have his operation.
It’s super, super shit for him as he has been on bed rest to alleviate the swelling so they can do the procedure and it’s a little bit shit for me (not that it’s all about me or anything haha) because I’m so bloody bored and I’m missing having a fully functioning partner in crime.
Due to this we’ve been bickering a lot lately – We are still having problems with our estate agents, moving back home was a bit of a shitter and now husband being bound to his room like Ambrose is bound to the Spellman mortuary (I’ve just finished The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina part one and I LOVED it, especially Aunt Hilda and Aunt Zelda…But I’m getting off topic) isn’t exactly helping matters in the slightest.
We’ve both said we don’t want to argue but I think we are both feeling pretty frustrated at the moment and this means we end up turning on one another. Once this operation is out of the way and husband is mobile once more I’m sure things will be fine but we both really need to start holding our tongues and gritting our teeth in the mean time!
(I wouldn’t normally share the ins and outs of my relationship on here but sometimes it helps to get it out…And to show others that not everything is roses and pizza and glitter all the time).
Having a slightly broken husband means I’ve been watching a lot of TV lately. As previously mentioned, I really enjoyed The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and I think the next season is going to be super interesting – They’ve really left their options open as to where each character is going to go.
Aswell as watching CAOS, husband also broke his house arrest rules by coming to the premiere of Bohemian Rhapsody. It was a bit of a nightmare as it was in a screen that had a lotta steps but he got up (thanks to a piggyback from a friendly passer by) and we both really enjoyed the movie. The music scenes gave me chills (especially the end one) and I thought Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury was spectacular – The casting director really deserved a round of applause.
Another recent watch? Well guys, I watched The Santa Clause 2 with my Mum last night…I know don’t hate me. My Mum put it on and I didn’t argue. It’s not as good as the original but it still has a few good giggles and gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling on the inside.
My Dad kept saying it was too soon to watch it but when you think about it, it really isn’t. Christmas is next month I mean come on! Speaking of which, despite our minor bickering, I finally had a brainwave of something to get husband for Christmas. I’m not going to share it on here as sometimes he checks in (and as he is laid up in bed 99% of the time at the moment, that’s evermore likely than usual) but I’m not gunna lie, I’m a little bit in awe of myself and I truly think I’ve knocked it out of the park…I just hope he feels the same way about it.
And that’s all I’ve got to report really. Hopefully Jody gets to have his operation tomorrow and things will start to get a little bit more exciting around here!
