Annnd, I disappeared again – Sorry about that. Here’s a post catching you up on where I’ve been and what’s happening.
It’s been two and a half weeks since I last posted. I had several drafts written and ready to go but due to several things happening in my personal life, it didn’t feel right posting them so I didn’t.
I hate to be so cryptic but one of the things that happened isn’t really mine to share and as it affects a lot of other people, I won’t be going into detail. It has hurt my husband and his family greatly and I feel so useless as there is nothing I can really do to help them in their time of need.
One thing I can say is that it’s really made me appreciate what I have and the life I have built (and am still building) for myself. It’s made me realise that life really is precious and can be taken from you at any time, at any age – So enjoy it while you still can and love your friends and family with every fibre of your being.
Because of this event, I will no longer be moving into Jody’s parents and will be going to live with my Mum and Dad instead. Jody and Bruce will be going to his parents, as previously planned.
We aren’t splitting up or unhappy or anything like that though – Bruce can’t come to my parents house as they have four dogs and I want Jody to stay with him so he doesn’t feel like we have abandoned him. Jody’s parents said I can still go and live there but for now, I think moving back to my mums is the right thing to do as it takes the pressure off them and means Jody can be there for his family as much as he possibly can.
It’s going to be hard for both of us as we have spent pretty much all of our time together since Australia but we will probably spend most of our nights together anyway.
(It might even be a good thing for us as it will encourage us to actually do things on a weeknight rather than lie around the house watching tv).
But, y’know, in light of everything that has happened we are so so lucky to have our health and each other so we can’t complain about having to live apart a few nights a week.
Apart from not living full time with my husband, I’m actually quite looking forward to moving back in with Mum and Dad. I haven’t lived there in so many years so I think it will be quite nice being back. They both work full time and help out with my sisters kids a lot so it will be pretty chilled out I imagine, especially as I’m a lot more domesticated now than when I was seventeen! (plus, mum always has the heating on so I will NEVER be cold).
Things are a little bit all over the place at the moment but I’m going to try and be a little bit more consistent with my posting – Especially as I’ve just forked out £100 for another year of hosting! My current schedule has me posting in the AM of every Tuesday and Thursday (changing to Mon-Weds-Fri in the run up to Christmas) so be sure to check in on those days.
Have a lovely week!
