The weekly edit #2

13/07/2018

Hello and welcome to the second weekly edit – A post that comes to you every Friday, rounding up the week that was.

Well, I survived a week (ish) in Nofolk with my family.

On Friday Jody and I packed up the car and drove four hours to Wroxham, a small village in Norfolk. We stayed in a rental with my mum, sister and sister’s kids whilst my nannie, auntie, uncle and cousin stayed a few miles down the road on the broads themselves. We explored seaside towns like Sheringham and Cromer, had 99 ice creams at Great Yarmouth and spent plenty of money in Norwich city centre. I’ll probably share some images and tales from the holiday over the coming weeks.

And I also picked up some new plant babies from the giant Tesco extra.

Close to Wroxham is a colossal Tesco extra and what did I spy when I walked in? PLANTS. I picked up a snake plant (£5), an aloe plant (£5) and two little succulents (£2 each). They came in the cutest little vases that are going to look great in my living room. They are in great nick for supermarket plants aswell.

After a month (!!!) away, I am going back to the gym.

Ergh, that’s right, after a month away from the gym, I’m going back today. I have a personal training session at 2pm and I’m kinda dreading it. I know it’s going to be hard but I got a little bit bored of the gym so I think I need to go with a PT to change up my routine and get some guidance on how to achieve the goals I have set myself.

We finally have a release date for the fourth Cormoran Strike novel ‘Lethal White’

I think the detective novels by JK Rowling are great and I’ve been waiting for the fourth instalment to get a release date for ages. Well we finally have one and come September we will be reunited with Cormoran and Robin once again.

Other things I’ve been loving this week:
  • Jody isn’t really a podcast person but as we had a long journey to Norfolk, he agreed to listen to Serial (his first listen, my second). Well he’s hooked and we managed to power through seven episodes – Hopefully this is the start of something beautiful.
  • Whilst in Norfolk I finally picked up the Yankee Candle in ‘Shea Butter’ and it smells lush. Such a comforting, warm (does that make sense?) scent and it fills the room.
  • After a week of eating shit and drinking pop, husband and I are on a detox. Plenty of water, loads of protein and back to the gym. The quest for our Mexico bodies starts now.
And that’s it! We had a five hour journey home yesterday so bar my gym session, the rest of the weekend is going to be spent taking it easy and enjoying what’s left of my time off. Have a lovely week!
