Good morning and happy Monday! I’ve woken up feeling pretty chipper (although the same can’t be said for my friend who text me at 6am after drinking tequila on a school night) and I’m looking forward to the week that lies ahead of me. I’ve got sunflower yellow nails, a fridge full of yummy food and my boss has the week off so I’m in the office on my own (which I love).
I didn’t have a post planned for today but as I was up early and I’m feeling pretty perky, I have this for ya – Six things I want to achieve by the end of the year.
Drink between 2&3 litres of water a day.
When I was in Norfolk I drank a lot of Pepsi and every time I wet in the fridge I got out a chocolate bar. I was feeling a bit bleh when I came home so I decided to have a bit of a detox – And part of this was drinking 2-3 litres of water a day. It’s been just over a week now and I feel amazing for hitting my daily water target. I have more energy and my skin…MY SKIN! It’s clear, it’s glowing and I’ve had a few compliments on it already. The results from one week of water drinking are already showing so it’s something I want to continue with – For artificial reasons and health reasons.
Pay off my holiday to Mexico and start building my savings back up.
Our living situation is about to change (I’ll explain more in another post) which means I’m going to be able to pay off our trip to Mexico much sooner than I originally expected. Once that’s paid off I want to start building my savings pot back up as we are hoping to buy a house next year (again, I’ll elaborate at a later date). My savings have been pretty sad looking ever since we returned from Las Vegas and NYC (over a year ago – oops) so it’s about time I built them back up again really.
Grow my peach and tone my legs up.
I’m back at the gym and loving it so obviously there was gunna be a couple of goals centred around fitness. My overall goal is to tone up my entire body (of course) but my main focus at the moment is growing my butt (a little bit – I don’t want a Kardashian arse, just a slightly rounder one haha) and toning my legs. I actually enjoy training glutes and legs more than any other part of my body so aslong as I eat right and continue going to the gym, there’s no reason why I shouldn’t see some more definition in that area. I would really love abs for Christmas but tbh, I like Pepsi and biscuits too much.
Try and read a book a fortnight.
Reading is one of my favourite things to do – Most of my day revolves around screens so diving into a book for an hour or so a day gives me a nice break from the technological world. Recently I’ve been averaging a book a fortnight (15 year old me used to average one every 1-2 days) and I’d like to keep that up. My most recent reads are ‘The tattooist of Aushwitz’ by Heather Morris – The story and it’s real life inspiration was lovely but I found myself racing to the end so I could move on to my next book, not so I could find out what happened – and ‘The Cactus’ by Sarah Haywood – Compared to ‘Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine’, I actually preferred The Cactus and it’s characters.
Have ‘active rest days’ with the husband and the dog.
Another health and fitness one, sorry! It’s just where my life is at at the moment I suppose. At the moment I’m aiming to get to the gym 3-4 times a week (two lower body sessions, two upper body sessions) then on the remaining days one of those is to be a total rest day (usually Saturday when I have shit to do) with two active rest days. These active rest days usually consist of a longer than usual dog walk with husband and dog and add to my fitness goals by providing a light cardiovascular workout. Plus it’s really nice to get out and about with two of my favourite beings.
Book another mini break for 2019.
Again, a change in living arrangements means a change in lifestyle and aswell as paying off Mexico and saving, I’d like to book a lil mini break for later in the year. Whether it’s a weekend camping in Scotland or Wales with husband and Bruce, or a weekend abroad (Rome? Paris? Amsterdam again?!), I just want something to look forward to before the craziness that comes with buying a house begins.
