Well bloody hell, it’s July – Meaning it’s time for a quarter two catch up!
In April I got a ‘you are off probation now yay!’ pay rise and after completing my six week short course in computerised accounts, I was VERY surprised to hear that I was getting another! It just goes to show that hard work pays off and I’m really happy to be working somewhere where I am appreciated and rewarded for my achievements.
I spent the last weekend in June in London with the husband and I had such a good time. We were so lucky to get such beautiful weather – We have only ever been when it’s been ‘meh’ so seeing the city in the sunshine made such a difference to our experience. We saw Wicked on the Thursday night and The Sherlocks/Richard Ashcroft/Liam Gallagher on the Friday and just wow, what a weekend.
Yep, after much deliberation we booked our holiday for 2019, ten nights in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Usually we plan and book everything ourselves but as it’s for Jody’s thirtieth birthday we wanted it to be special. We’ve booked a five star, all inclusive hotel that is right on the beach and I cannot wait to get a tan, drink, snorkel and kayak. Bring on April!
I don’t actually know who ‘Soph Does Nails’ is but I can tell you that this palette is a beauty. I’m OBSESSED with red, orange and yellow eyeshadows so I was instantly drawn to it, like a moth to a flame. The shadows aren’t as easy to apply as my Urban Decay shadows (they are a touch chalky) but at £10 for 18 shadows I can’t really complain.
Yep, Love Island has been one of my favourites from Q2 – And yes, I kinda hate myself for it. After a few years of avoiding it curiosity got the better of me and now every night is spent counting down the hours til I can flick over to ITV2 and catch up on what’s been going on in the villa. #SorryNotSorry.
Now I’m not usually one for floral perfumes but the hype surrounding this perfume is just as it smells divine. It’s super delicate and smells ever so pretty, the perfect spring summer scent. Just a shame it’s so pricey as I seem to use a lot of it!
On Saturday Jody and I will be heading to the Norfolk Broads to spend just under a week with my family. I’m really looking forward to having a solid chunk of time off and at the moment the weather forecast is looking pretty sweet which is really exciting.
On my final day at college my tutor interviewed me for a place on the year long AAT level two course and I really wanted to take it. I’ve had a brief chat with my boss about it and it looks like starting the course in September is a possibility so watch this space.
Whilst The View are on hiatus, lead singer Kyle Falconer has been working on his solo album. It’s finally being released at the end of July and then we will be seeing him in Leeds in September. I really miss The View so seeing Kyle solo will hopefully fill the void.
