Hello dear readers, I hope this blog post finds you well.
Things have been a little bit slack around here lately. My schedule has fallen by the wayside and if truth be told, I’m struggling from a touch of the bloggers block. When I had a brief hiatus earlier on in the year I promised myself that if the words wouldn’t come, I wouldn’t force them, hence why I have been posting less. I think my lack of enthusiasm for my blog probably comes from being so god damn tired. I don’t know what’s happened but out of nowhere I’m feeling proper knackered and run down, meaning the blog has had to take a bit of a backseat. I think my body knows that I have some time off coming up so it’s slowly shutting down and going into holiday mode (hence the tiredness).
Jody and I are heading to London next weekend to see Liam Gallagher and Wicked (CANNOT WAIT) and then we have one full week at work before we head to the Norfolk Broads with my family. Whilst our trip to the capital will be all go I’m hoping the Broads will have a much more chilled out vibe so I can really re-charge my batteries. Fingers crossed this re-charge will bring back my motivation for, well, everything – My job, the gym, my blog, cleaning the house…Basically motivation to do something other than waiting for Love Island to start.
WHICH, by the way, I am O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D with. I’ve resisted for the last couple of years but curiosity finally got the better of me and I’m now a big fan. Once this series ends I will be heading over to Netflix to catch up on the previous years offerings. I’m a big fan of Dani and Jack, I like Alex but I prefer Samira – I don’t understand why people haven’t got behind Samira as much? She’s sassy, strong and independent, #ByeBoy. Oh and I think Adam is an absolute collosal bellend – but who doesn’t?
Other than moaning that I’m tired and watching Love Island, I’ve been trying to squeeze in some reading. After powering through Dawn O Porter’s ‘The Cows’ in a day, I’ve been slowly plowing through Adam Kay’s diaries from when he was a junior doctor, entitled ‘This is going to hurt’. I say slowly plowing as if it’s a terrible book – It’s not, it’s great, it’s just quite hard to read in parts due to the graphic nature of the job role. I would highly recommend it to anyone and if anything it just reminded me how incredibly luckily we are to have access to free healthcare and that we must do everything in our power to save it before it crumbles.
But that’s a rant for another day.
I’m now reading ‘The Wanted’ by Robert Crais. I was gifted this book by one of my Mum’s clients and it’s really, really good. I didn’t realise that it’s part of a series (Elvis Cole & Joe Pike – two private detectives) so once I’ve finished this one (which is number 16 in the series) I’m going to start from the beginning. There’s a few on Ebay so I’ll be heading over there at some point to pick up some more.
In other news, I finally bit the bullet and paid £12.99 for unlimited next day delivery on Pretty Little Thing. I used to think PLT was a bit shit but recently I’ve come to love their clothing – I have three pairs of these paperbag trousers now and I have some lovely bodysuits from there too. Money well spent methinks. I also spent some of my hard earned cash on Superdrug – They have their 3 for 2 deal on and I couldn’t resist picking up two eyeshadow palettes and a blush palette from Revolution – Great quality make up for a bargain price. I’ve spent quite a lot of money recently (I think the effect the gym has had on my body has made me a lot more confident so I’ve been buying clothes I wouldn’t have bought this time last year) so once London is out of the way I will be reining my spending in and going back to saving seriously.
I’m racking my brains trying to think of anything else of interest that’s going on at the moment but I’m drawing a blank. I haven’t been to the gym all week because I CANNOT BE ARSED and I’m a little bit stressed because my rented house has loads of cracks in the walls and the landlord/estate agent are dragging their arses when it comes to getting a surveyor out to look at the damage. Thankfully we have a big party this weekend so I’m going to do my make up all nice, catch up with the girls and a have a vodka or three.
So that’s it – Have a lovely weekend and I may or may not post next week. See how I feel I guess.
Much love xx
