Today we have a humble beauty favourites post. These are three products that I’ve been using every day, without fail, for the last couple of weeks. Two of them are fairly new to me (breaking my sort of spending ban, oops) whilst one has been lurking at the bottom of my make up bag, unused for the last year or so.
Barry M illuminating strobe cream stick
I have two Barry M strobe cream sticks – Iced bronze (a soft copper hue) and Galactic (an icy holographic silver-blue). I’ve always loved iced bronze but the galactic one took a while to warm up to…Meaning I wore it once, shoved it in a cupboard then forgot about it until very recently. I decided to give it another shot on a whim and I’ve worn it every day since. It’s super easy to apply and doesn’t drag like Glossier’s haloscope (and also happens to be a fraction of the price). I tend to slap it on rather haphazardly then blend it with a beauty blender so it’s not completely blinding. The end result is actually quite soft and it’s really grown on me. Would highly recommend if you are a) in the market for a budget highlighter, b) a newbie to highlighter, or c) are v v lazy when it comes to your make up routine.
Marc Jacobs ‘Daisy’ eau de toilette
(RRP £55 for 50ml but shop around!)
Marc Jacobs ‘Daisy’ is a perfume that I’ve seen doing the round on various blogs but something I never thought I would buy for myself. With it’s top notes of wild berries and white violet, heart notes of jasmine infusion and base note of sandalwood, I thought it would be a touch too ‘twee’ for me – You know, very light, very floral, very delicate. Despite my reservations I decided to give it a spritz in Boots and whilst I didn’t love on first spray, it’s another grower and I am now o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d. When I got home I was straight on the internet trying to find it on offer (Feel Unique – £37.50) and I’ve used it every day since. It’s the perfect Summer perfume and I’m definitely not going to be such a floral snob in the future.
Revolution sugar & spice blush palette
You know when you go into Superdrug for one thing then leave with a bulging bag of basics and lighter bank account? Well I picked this palette up on one of those excursions. For £4 I thought why not and I’m glad I did as it’s been a great addition to my make up collection. The palette features 4 beautiful pink tones blushes, two warm orangey-brown ones and two pink highlighters, all of which look lush on my milk bottle skin. The pigmentation is great and I cannot believe it only cost £4 – It’s an absolute steal. I’m definitely going to be investing in a couple more revolution blush palettes as I prefer these blushers to other, more expensive ones in my collection.
