Happy Sunday everyone! I hope we are all feeling refreshed and ready for the week ahead – Apparently we are in for a beauty of a week so sandals and sunglasses at the ready! As per usual I don’t want to ramble on too much – you guys know what the deal is with my Sunday post right? So why bore on talking about the weather when I could be filling you in on my week…
Most people hate going back to work after a week off but I was actually pretty glad to return. It was nice getting all of my life admin done through the week (dentist appointments, manicures, you know that kinda thing) but I need structure and routine in my life or I end up wide awake until the early hours of the morning – Not good. There was a lot of work waiting for me when I got back but tbh, I love being busy so I was in my element.
I know, who am I and what I have done with Jess?! After only going ot the gym once on my week off I figured I better go back before I never go back so I ended up going T-W-T-F. I am aware that you are supposed to have rest days but don’t fret – Tuesday and Thursday were 30 minute long strength training sessions and Wednesday and Friday were for cardio. I focused on using different muscle groups etc each session, ensuring that all parts of me got a proper rest. I actually liked going four times as it meant I didn’t have to rush around trying to squeeze my weights AND my cardio into my lunch hour meaning I got a proper workout over the course of the week.
The Health Code podcast is hosted by health, fitness and wellness youtuber Sarah Day and her boyfriend Kurt. I had no idea who either of them were and only subscribed because it was number one on ITunes but I’m glad I did. They both come across really well and whilst the main focus of the podcast is health (obvs) they also cover careers, relationships and more. It sounds like they have an absolute ball recording and it’s a light, easy going listen. As I’m currently going through a major gym phase, finding Sarah’s podcast and youtube channel couldn’t have come at a better time!
On Saturday I had my hair done and went to my Mum with a photo of Cate Blanchett in Oceans Eight for Hashtag Inspo. I had all the purple and blue bleached out, a super blonde toner put on it and I’ve got a fringe for the first time in years. It took a few hours to get used to but I love having a fringe again and I think I might have found my signature cut and colour after years of experimentation.
Last night we went to Aldi to get our weekly shop and we came home with a fivers worth of ice lollies (which is a lot cos Aldi’s cheap) and after looking at the weather forecast for the week ahead I’m glad we were prepared – Come Wednesday I bet the freezers aren’t quite as full! I love me some ice cream and I’m so glad ice cream/lolly season is almost upon us.
