And that was…September

September round up - Autumnal flat lay with conkers, scarf and star light

So we are officially into Autumn, I have a new job, a new dog and I’ve had my blog revamped – It’s been all go this month let me tell ya!

Gaining a new family member! At the beginning of the month husband and I rehomed little Brucey and we are well and truly in puppy love. He’s a cracking little dog and I love having him around.

Finding a new job. After a year and a half at my current role I decided that it was time to move on and started hunting for something new. I found the perfect position – It’s round the corner from my house, pays well and has plenty of prospects – and lucky for me, they offered me the role! I start on the 16th of October and I can’t wait for the next step in my work life.

Watching Jack Whitehall: Travels with my father. In this Netflix special Jack Whitehall takes the gap yah he never had…With his uber posh Dad. As you would expect it’s pretty hilarious so if you get a spare three hours I would highly recommend. I’ve also been rewatching Friends, The Inbetweeners and Fresh Meat – They will never get old.

Walking a hell of a lot more. Obviously having a dog means we are taking him out quite a lot and I’m loving going on family walks. He’s a little bit anti social (like his mother) so he has to be on the lead at all times but he still loves having an explore.

Resisting putting the heating on. Mid September the weather really snapped and rather than see the gas bill jump up before it’s even really Winter, I’ve dug out my scarves and invested in some super fluffy pj’s. I refuse to put it on before October!

Getting all cosy and autumnal. X Factor has started, the candles are on and potatoes are making up 80% of my diet. It’s practically Christmas.

Staying in a lot. Now we have a fur baby he is our number one priority and if that means saying no to nights out then so be it (the bank balance ain’t complaining either).

Enjoying some Lush baths (I favor bubble bars over bombs). When I heard Lush had released the Christmas collection I couldn’t help myself and picked up a couple of bits. I go through phases with baths but at the moment I am l-o-v-i-n-g them.

Buying my first lot of Christmas presents! Sorry for mentioning the C word not once, but twice by the way – I just love being organised. I’ve got my niece and nephew’s gifts and I’ve got an idea of what to get my Mum and my Sister. Only my Dad, Nannie and Husband to plan for now.

Looking back on September’s goals:

Go to the gym and get into a routine

I’ve been going once a week which really isn’t enough but as I’ve had to adjust to having a dog I’m going to cut myself some slack!

Read three new to me books

I smashed this one – I read The Dry, The Keeper of Lost Things and The Couple Next Door.I’m gunna push for four in October.

Try not to buy any clothes or beauty products.

I did okay with this one but towards the end of the month I cracked and made a Lush order and a Barry M order. I’ve done much better than usual but there is still room for improvement.

Goals for October

Settle into my new role

I am ridiculously nervous about my new job – it’s a whole new industry so there’s gunna be a lot to learn – but I can’t wait to get my teeth into something new. Only a few more weeks to go!

Up the number of times I go the gym a week

With the dog and the house and the new job thing I’ve been really preoccupied, hence why I’ve only been going once a week. Once I start my new job I will have to go past my gym on the way home so I’m hoping the guilt of passing by it will motivate me to go more!

Finish some of the series we have started

Husband and I have a terrible habit of start box sets then never finishing them but now that the nights are getting colder and darker we have no excuses not to finish them. Currently we have Ray Donovan, Ozark, The Handmaid’s Tale, Top of the Lake: China Girl and the latest series of Orange is the New Black to finish. Oh and I’ve just started The Walking Dead. Great.

And that’s that! Have a lovely day!
