The Friday Five #1

SIMON NEIL BIFFY CLYRO

I mentioned in this post that I'm trying to cut down on my time online so in order to keep my weekends (mostly) free of blogging, I've decided to scrap 'The Sunday Catch Up' and introduce 'The Friday Five'. It's exactly the same as TSCU just with a new publishing day and a new snazzy title so yeah, shall we get on with it?

THE OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY
It was my work Christmas party last Saturday and as I'm a bit awkward, I ended up getting vodka drunk and my colleagues were quite surprised at this different version of Jess that they had never seen before. Luckily I didn't make a complete fool of myself and ended up having a great night - It was just a shame about the stinking hangover that came the next day.

BIFFY F*CKIN CLYRO
Despite being hungover to death, I still managed to get myself sorted out and headed to Leeds to watch Biffy Clyro. I haven't seen them in three years so I was buzzing to hear the new album live and they didn't disappoint (although the set list was a tad strange). Due to my hungover state I forgot to take any photo ID with me and they wouldn't let us in without it - Thank God I had my phone and could show my confirmation emails as proof that I bought them!

IN PLAIN SIGHT
I am a Martin Compston fan girl - I've seen the large majority of his movies and think he's AMAZING in Line of Duty - so when I saw he would be portraying Scottish serial killer, Peter Manuel I did a little scream. It aired on Wednesday and it was everything I hoped it would be. Compston delivers a chilling performance as the smug psychopath Manuel and I'm interested to see how he gets his comeuppance.

MY NEW TATTOO
I went for my first tattoo in four or five years on Tuesday and man did it sting! I'll be sharing more details on the design and the artist who did it when I can get some decent photos of it - at the moment it's a bit scabby and red, ew! - so keep an eye out for it! I'm totally in love with it and the artist has done an incredible job.

THE SOFA KING PODCAST
I'm a massive fan of this podcast but I'm not really sure if it's that well known in the UK? Basically three dudes living in California sit for an hour or so discussing topics such as serial killers, conspiracy theories and notable historical figures (Some of my fave topics by the way). The podcast is hilarious and I come away feeling like I've learned something new every time. I will give a warning though: Go in with an open mind and take what they say with pinch of salt as some parts of the podcast may offend.

Have a lovely weekend!
