Three products that didn't live up to the hype

Let's be honest, we've all bought something because we've seen it on someone else's blog right? Well here are three products I bought because of 'blogger hype' that I didn't think were worth it.

Pixi Glow Tonic
Bad skin has plagued me my whole life (seriously since I was like 10) and after reading some blog reviews of the Glow Tonic I thought I'd give it a go. So I shelled out my £18 and after nearly 2 months of using it, I can't really see any difference. Boo. I'm not saying don't buy it, I'm just saying it didn't really work for me.

Quay Australia Sunglasses.
Please don't shoot me! I do actually quite like the Quay sunglasses, the designs are really cool BUT when I ordered a pair from ASOS I wore them for all of 5 minutes before one of the Quay logo's fell out and had to be glued back in. I think that whilst they look lush, they're quite flimsy and I definitely wouldn't pay full price for a pair (If they were in the ASOS sale I could be persuaded).

Mac Lipstick
I was in the airport waiting for my flight to Bali when I stumbled across the MAC counter. Now I've never owned anything from MAC before but I'd see all the hype surrounding the lippies so I picked up 'Please Me', a muted, rose tinted, matte pink. And I feel totally meh about it. It didn't feel/smell that nice and rubbed off within the hour.

Have you ever bought something because you saw it on someone else's blog or Instagram? Did you like it or were you disappointed?

  1. I love that someone doesn't like Mac!! It feels like the whole world just adore everything Mac but I didn't even cave into trying anything when I was cruelty free. I think a lot of it is over hype.

Something I was disappointed with recently was Barry M's waterproof mascara. I usually use the normal one and it's fab but I cry a lot so thought I'd try the waterproof one haha. It just ended up being too wet and makes my lashes quite clumpy.
