Julianne Moore, you beautiful, red haired Goddess. Take the Oscar, just take it!
In Still Alice, Julianne Moore plays Alice, a super clever linguistics lecturer who is diagnosed with early on set Alzheimer's. It shows her mental ability slowly declining to the point where she doesn't know her kids, her home, even herself.
It's one of those films where you come out feeling so lucky and happy that you are a okay and you are not suffering like some people around the world are. It makes you never want to complain or whinge about how crappy your day at work was ever again. It makes you want to not waste any more time dicking around and to live life to your fullest because you never know what is around the corner.
I really enjoyed Still Alice and even though I didn't cry (AHEM Jody) it really made me feel and we both came out needing a hefty dose of Parks & Rec and Chocolate. The supporting cast included Kristen Stewart and Alec Baldwin but they were pale in comparison to Julianne Moore. She handled the character of Alice so well and her performance was pretty believable.
Have you seen Still Alice or read the book by Lisa Genova?
