Reflecting on 2014

yorkshire sunrise

Oh 2014, you have been a weird and wonderful year.
And only 12 days of you left.

I went from being a in a job I hated to being asked back to the job I was made redundant from. I finished my NVQ level two in Hairdressing - Something I thought I would never complete. And perhaps the biggest change of all - I have arranged everything for my move to Australia after it being in the making since 2011. I've also gotten a lot closer to my family (especially my sister) and really hope I can keep that up in 2015.

Over the coming new year I just want to have a good time and make the most out of my time in Oz.
What have you got planned for 2015?

(More to come on my 2015 resolutions!)

24 Christmassy Best Bits

'It's the most wonderful time of the year!'

Mummy bear's 7ft monster of a Christmas tree!

- All the Christmas tv specials that crop up.
- Choosing wrapping paper. Paperchase is my personal fave.
- Yorkshire Puddings. Nuff said.
- And Pigs in Blankets *Drools*
- The hope of snow. And the light drizzle of rain we get instead.
- Christmas lights twinkling away.
- Buying presents for my favourites.
- Spending Christmas Day playing games with my mad family. Full blown war zone.
 - MTV Xmas playing all the classics.
- Then singing said classics all day every day until January 8th.
- Seeing my dog dressed as a reindeer - super cute.
- CHRISTMAS QUIZZES!
- Monster tubs of chocolate. On sale.
- Crap cracker jokes i.e What do you call a blind reindeer? No eye deer.
- ALL THE GLITTER!
- Going to the Pantomime (Family Tradition!)
- Cuddling up on the sofa with the quilt and a mountain of pringles to get through.
- Wearing all your new clobber on Christmas Day.
- Helping Momma decorate the tree (even though she still changes it when we leave)
 -  The annual buying of a new beanie hat.
- Watching The Grinch, Home Alone, Love Actually and more.
- Still getting giddy over the prospect of a stocking.
- The annual fried breakfast on Christmas Day.
- Feeling the fuzzy lovey dovey festive warmth in your bones.

What are your favourite parts about Christmas?
Love Jess

Advent Musings...

alpaca mem

December you sly son of a bitch.

Even though you roll round every year, you have once again shocked and terrified us all by coming around even faster than usual. Bang on schedule I've developed a snotty nose and sore throat and the weather has become bitterly cold.

In 26 days I will be on a plane to Australia, on my way to start a new adventure. Deciding to apply for our visa's and take the plunge feels like it only happened last week (when actually it happened in January!) and the clock is quickly ticking away the last couple of weeks I have in the Uk.

Being the super organised penguin that I am, I've got all my Christmas presents sorted, everything is ready for Australia (bar my bag) and now it is just a waiting game.

It's going to be a busy old month me thinks!
